Dental Care
Dental care is vital for your pet’s overall good health. Without adequate care, bacteria can build up in your pet’s mouth and spread throughout their body, leading to heart, kidney, or liver damage. This can cause your pet to have severe dental pain. Dental pain is a common issue among pets and can lead to difficulty eating, sleeping, and general discomfort. Early diagnosis and treatment of dental problems can help to alleviate this pain and prevent more serious health issues.
The Gentle Vet team offers complete dental services to dogs and cats of all ages and will provide instructions and recommendations for at-home toothbrushing and other oral care during your wellness visits. We perform full-service dental cleanings and extractions while your pet is under general anesthesia—because pets don’t open wide and say, “Ahhh.” Anesthesia also allows us to take X-rays of each tooth from inside your pet’s mouth to provide us with a detailed view of each complete tooth, including the buried tooth roots, so we can thoroughly address problems hidden below the gum line.
